    Traffic Information:

    As soon as you have found your parking space at Gatwick parking the journey begins. Of course you want to be at the airport on time. Below you will find information regarding the transportation options, expected travel times, and other relevant traffic information.

    Gatwick Airport is easily accessible, both by public transport and by car. The airport is connected to the M23 motorway at Junction 9 and to the A23 London-Brighton road. The M25 at Junction 7 is a 10 minute drive from Gatwick Airport, connecting it with the UK’s extensive road and motorway network.

    Under normal weather conditions you can expect the following travel times:

    Book now

    London -> Gatwick Airport 27.6 miles / 1:17 hours
    Portsmouth -> Gatwick Airport 75.4 miles / 1:19 hours
    Brighton -> Gatwick Airport 27.3 miles / 0:37 hours
    Southampton -> Gatwick Airport 87.4 miles / 1:29 hours

    On the road information:

    Before you set off, we recommend that you have your car checked for any technical faults. This will ensure that you avoid any problems on your journey, and arrive on time at the airport.

    This concerns such things as oil level and coolant. Please also make sure that your tire pressure is in order, including that of the spare wheel. In addition, we would like to also recommend checking the operation of your lights.

    Fuel

    Whether you run on petrol, diesel, or LPG, you can fill up with these fuels virtually anywhere in the UK. When you travel on the motorways, we advise you to fill up before entering the motorway, this is often cheaper than when you fill up along the M23. LPG is not always available at petrol stations in the city for safety reasons.

    Maximum Speed

    Although you are probably familiar with British traffic regulations, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the following speed limits apply in the UK. The national speed limit on motorways and dual carriageways is 70 miles per hour. On single carriageways there is a speed limit of 60 miles per hour, and if you drive on city roads there is a speed limit of 30 miles per hour. It is always suggested that you check the local postage for speed limits, as these numbers are subject to change.

    Please pay attention to road & motorway construction and check traffic conditions before you leave.
